Initial Client Problem

Our client had a problem with the supply of lubrication oil for the turbine which lacked when the voltage dropped or became zero due to external factors. The lubrication system had a flow rate of 210 L/minute, a maximum pressure of 40 bar, a minimum pressure which must be maintained at 25 bar and an emergency time duration of 3 seconds. To overcome the loss of supply of lubrication oil to the turbine for 3 seconds and the minimum pressure at 25 bar, an accumulator system was required.

Our Solution

We carried out engineering calculations, installation, modification and commissioning. The type of accumulator used was 5400A-00-201 54L BLADDER ACC. 207 BAR STD with welding neck flange DN100 connection, PN16 bar and permanent monitoring. The result was the accumulator worked optimally for 10 seconds and the pump runned at 11 seconds. The oil requirement for 10 seconds was 35 L, and the maximum operating pressure was 40 bar and minimum operating pressure was 30 bar
