Initial Client Problem

Our client, a ship maker company that provided ships for the Indonesian Navy. The ships were equipped with high-speed diesel engines and used Biodiesel B30 as fuel. The engine manufacturer allowed the use of B30 fuel under specified cleanliness and water content requirements based on DIN EN 14214 and Directorate General of Oil and Gas 2019 regulations. The water content was below 500 ppm, with a cleanliness level of ISO 18/16/13.

Our Solution

To address this, we secured approval from the engine manufacturer for our Fuel Treatment System (FWS) KFWA 3 BY model by TeknoFluida, ensuring that our client’s engine warranty remained valid. Our biodiesel filter unit operated from the main tank to the daily tank with a capacity of 2500 L/hour. After treatment with the KFWA 3 BY the water content was reduced to 381 ppm and achieved ISO 17/16/13 cleanliness levels in a single filtration process.
