Initial Client Problem

Our client had an Operation and Maintenance Service Unit (OMU) with a capacity of 1 X 660 MW, along with an HPU system on the Ship Unloader (SU). This system had an accumulator to store hydraulic power, preventing the pump from running continuously. However, the automatic tension regulator for the conveyor belt failed to function. This issue occurred due to a malfunction in the control panel’s electrical system, causing the automatic function to work improperly. Additionally, there were numerous leaks in the HPU caused by worn hoses and a rusty cabinet. Our client faced maintenance challenges because identified spare parts were unavailable, and certain components suffered from corrosion damage.

Our Solution

We provided a solution by revitalizing the control panel’s electricity, replacing hoses, pressure switches, and directional control valves. Additionally, we installed new hydraulic filters. We improved the automatic belt conveyor system by enabling the signal from the pressure switch. As a result, when the pressure dropped, the hydraulic pump worked, and the tension on the conveyor belt was always maintained.
