The BT and BTH series pumps are low-speed gear pumps for transferring medium and high viscosity fluids, provided the fluid has certain minimum lubricating properties, contains no solids, and is chemically compatible with the construction materials. The standard construction material for the pump housing, bearing cover, and stuffing box cover is gray cast iron. The shaft and gears are manufactured from surface-hardened, tempered, and polished steel. The shaft is supported by plain bearings made of bronze, with sintered iron being an option.
