B40 Biodiesel in Indonesia: A Solution Full of Challenges
Indonesia, as one of the world's largest palm oil producers, has taken significant steps in developing renewable energy through the biodiesel program. One of the latest initiatives is the implementation of Biodiesel B40 which was inaugurated in January 2025. Biodiesel B40 is a mixture of 40% biodiesel with 60% conventional diesel fuel or diesel oil. In its development, the biodiesel program in Indonesia began with the implementation of B20 (a mixture of 20% biodiesel) in 2016, which was then increased to B30 in 2020. This increase aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Then, in 2023, the Indonesian government announced plans to implement B40 as a follow-up step in the national Biodiesel program.

Proper Biodiesel B30 Treatment for Your System
The usage of B30 Biodiesel has been a mandatory requirement for industry since 2020. B30 has the advantage of being more environmentally friendly and produces energy as much as diesel fuel from petroleum. The weakness is that it needs right treatment to prevent contamination of water, microbes and solid particles. Tekno Fluida has prepared the B30 Management Module, especially for application in marine, mining and manufacturing industries. This module contains the Fuel Polishing System, Fuel Water Separation System, Flushing, Tank Cleaning and Condition Monitoring Set. The goal is to keep the engine protected and prevent premature breakdown.
